On Sunday, December 16, 2018, Dr. Karwan Fahmi-Director of the Statistics and ICT Center at the University of Zakho, represented the university in a symposium entitled "Enhancing the Arab Universities Ranking & The Role of Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF)" which was held in Holiday Inn Hotel in Amman-Jordan. It was organized under the sponsorship of Dr. Mohammed Abu Rumman-the Minister of Culture in Jordan.
It was started with a speech by Prof.Sami Al-Khazendar-ARCIF Committee Chairman. Then after many speeches delivered by key members, the sessions started. During the sessions, many opinions were discussed and ideas exchanged on how to improve the Arab Universities Rank in the "QS World University Rankings" and other international classifications. What is the ARCIF? What are its criteria? As well as presenting the results of the ARCIF Annual Report for 2018.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Karwan Fahmi-Director of the Statistics and ICT Center actively participated in this symposium, representing the University of Zakho., Dr. Ahmed Dizaey- President of Salahuddin University, Dr. Idris Hadi-President of ISHK University and Dr. Ava from the University of Sulaymaniyah along with many academic and research figures, directors, officials, Arab university presidents and deans of the faculties.
